A healthy practice for the mind and body
Hatha Yoga in the term that refers to the physical practice of yoga postures, done in order to prepare the body for meditation and spiritual development. The word Hatha is a construct of the words “ha” (sun/masculine energy) and “tha” (moon/feminine principal), both of which inhabit one’s body. So the countless yoga styles out there are all in fact Hatha Yoga. However in the West the term is commonly used to indicate milder yoga practices. A Hatha class will include work on flexibility, strength and balance in all parts of the body, as well as deep breathing techniques.
